Recently, the Selangor State presented 11 units of the Isuzu FORWARD FVR AUTO (Garbage Compactor Truck) to KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM). The handover marks KDEBWM's appointment of providing household garbage collection services in Kajang Municipal Council's administrative area, beginning 29 June 2018.

KDEBWM, a state-owned firm, will assume waste collection and public cleaning services in 59 areas, which will commence in stages.

The handover ceremony was led by Dato' Menteri Besar Selangor, Y.A.B Tuan Haji Amirudin Shari, who presented the garbage compactor trucks to the firm's subcontractors. The event was witnessed by KDEBWM Managing Director, Ramli bin Mohd Tahir, and Kajang Municipal Council Yang DiPertua, Mohd Sayuthi bin Bakar. In attendance were also representatives from Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, including newly appointed Chief Operating Officer, Atsunori Murata, and the authorised Isuzu dealership responsible for the procurement deal, Automotive Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The FVR AUTO units are slated to be part of KDEBWM's long-term effort in promoting the ‘Smart Waste Solution’ concept throughout Selangor. The 11 units were locally fitted to include high-tech accessories such as GPS tracking system and camera monitor.

The FVR AUTO is powered by the highly efficient 6HK1 engine that provides excellent output and torque, while offering durability and reliability to ensure impressive load-carrying performance. All units are equipped with Full Air Brake with Auto Adjuster. Moreover, the FVR AUTO includes the Hot Shift PTO with External Speed Controller which allows the vehicle to engage the PTO feature while idling in Neutral gear, aside from preventing unexpected PTO operation.

During the handover ceremony, Isuzu Malaysia's Chief Operating Officer, Atsunori Murata, believes that the 11 units of FVR AUTO will serve its purpose well, and were chosen based on the perception that Isuzu commercial vehicles are trustworthy, durable and economical.

KDEDWM's appointment is part of a seven-year pilot project, in which 59 compactor trucks are being planned for future procurement. According to the Selangor Menteri Besar, the new Isuzu FVR AUTO garbage compactor trucks are expected to resolve operators previous complaints of unreliability.
