Touch-On-The-Fly
The first with a convenient one-button switching from 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive and vice versa at speeds up to 100km/h.

Anti-theft System
The D-Max comes with a key coded immobilizer. In the event of theft, the engine will not start without the original key.
* Applicable to 3.0L models only
Dual SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) Airbags
In the event of a frontal collision, SRS airbags deploy instantly, cushioning and protecting those in front, minimising body impact.
* Applicable to 3.0L models – Automatic Transmission (AT) only
Grade Logic Control
The D-Max automatically selects the ideal gear, reducing gear searching and improving vehicle control. Helpful in twisty and hilly driving conditions.
* Applicable to 3.0L models except Type-B only
Anti-lock Braking System & Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. (ABS + EBD)
ABS prevents the wheels from locking during sudden braking, even on wet, slippery surfaces - providing better traction and control of the vehicle. EBD varies the amount of force applied to each of brake, based on road conditions and speed.

Solid Cabin
Single pieces of double-sided galvanized steel sheets are used to construct the cabin sides, for added rigidity and strength, making it less prone to rattling and corrosion.
Reinforced Chassis
A rigid pick-up chassis with the most number of joints. High-performance and thickest frame further increase durability and safety. For better weight distribution and stability, the chassis is reinforced with a specially designed Rear 'X' Cross Member.
Solid Door Beams
These are incorporated into all doors, to resist forces from side collisions, minimizing injury to passengers.
Safety Crushable Zones
Accident prone areas are reinforced to provide controlled impact absorption.
Wheel Stopper
In a frontal collision, the wheel is prevented from intruding into the front passenger cabin.
Improved Brake Servo
An upgraded and improved brake servo and larger caliper area provide greater stopping power for added safety.
Collapsible Steering Column
In the event of heavy frontal impact, the steering column collapses, avoiding excessive injuries to the driver.
