Sabah, The Land Below the Winds is well known for its captivating scenery and ever so friendly people. But to 4x4 enthusiasts, Sabah is also well known for its challenging adventure terrains, which needs both brawn and brains to complete the challenge. On the 26th Sept 2005, members of the Malaysian Media had experienced the variety of terrain, which Sabah had to offer during the ISUZU D-MAX 4x4 Adventure, organized by Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd (IMSB). The 3 days 2 nights event started from Kota Kinabalu to Keningau on the first day, then continued to Kundasang on day 2 and made the last stop at Sandakan on day three.

The 600 over kilometres journey created some very unforgettable moments for all who attended. All media representatives and staffs from IMSB had some of the best moments in life where they were able to view the best panorama in Sabah from a perspective not available from a tour bus. Travelling daily of an average of 200km was tough mixed with the on road excitement from logging trails that varied from a mild to hardcore off-road driving and city cruising as well. A convoy visited the highest and most isolated school in Ranau, SK Tangou and handed over some goodies to the headmaster. Things got more interesting when we were driving along the breathtaking Crocker Range around Kinabalu Park before dropping by Kundasang, where we actually saw the peak of Mount Kinabalu. On the last day, we stopped by the Pouring Hot Springs and the world famous Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary.

Armed with the saying "killing two birds with one stone", all ISUZU D-MAX 4x4 Adventure participants were actually able to do so. While enjoying the enchanting vista, we also experienced real off-road driving where our feet were wet and muddy most of the time. One of the units had a puncture and finally we were able to use the winch to winch it up. A strenuous process but yes, we had lots of fun!

At the end of our 3D/2N vacation, we went home with a content heart and vowed to visit Sabah again with ISUZU D-MAX team. Mostly everyone moaned because they had to leave early but we, from IMSB hope all participants enjoy themselves and we are looking forward to the next adventure. So, be prepared and we'll see you next year!
