ISUZU D-MAX STILL THE UNDISPUTED FUEL EFFICIENCY CHAMPION
The Isuzu D-Max remains Malaysia’s most fuel efficient pick-up truck. This was clearly underlined when Asian Auto Magazine, Malaysia’s oldest motoring publication, awarded the D-Max with the Asian Auto-Mudah.my Fuel Efficiency Award for the second year running.
The award places the Isuzu D-Max at the top of the pick-up category offering the best fuel economy, beating the smaller Ssangyong Actyon Sport and the Nissan Navara despite having the largest engine capacity among the contenders.
CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Takashi Hata said that the award was testimony to the D-Max’s superior engine technology that delivered exemplary performance, durability and fuel efficiency.
“Isuzu has been at the forefront of diesel engine technology for many decades now. Our unending pursuit of technological supremacy keeps us at the cutting edge of engine and vehicle development. The impressive results of the award are clear testimony of Isuzu’s superior engine designs that provide the ideal balance between performance and fuel efficiency,” said Hata.
The Asian Auto-Mudah.my Fuel Efficiency Award is given out to the vehicles that return the best fuel consumption in their respective segments, ranging from family saloons to compact city cars and luxury SUVs. This is the second year that Asian Auto has initiated these awards to recognize the growing concern of customers regarding fuel efficiency issues.
Receiving the award on behalf of Isuzu Malaysia was Product Development Manager Wan Zaqi Zacary who said the award was a significant recognition of the many capabilities of the Isuzu D-Max.
“The D-Max has proven itself in its three core values including durability through its involvement in such tough events as the Borneo Safari and Dura-Mission off-road events, reliability and performance in motor rallies by winning the 2008 AAM Malaysian 4x4 Rally Championship and now that the D-Max has won two consecutive fuel efficiency awards, the list of amazing credentials of the vehicle continues to grow,” he said.
