OWNERS PROVE ISUZU D-MAX EFFICIENCY
Some 30 Isuzu D-Max owners gathered in Kota Kinabalu today to challenge for the title of KK’s most fuel efficient Isuzu D-Max driver. The owners were participants in the Dura-Miles Challenge Kota Kinabalu, a fuel efficiency competition organized by Isuzu Malaysia to showcase the amazing fuel efficiency of the award-winning Isuzu D-Max.
In the challenge, participants fueled their Isuzu D-Max to the brim and after the cars were sealed off by the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) personnel, the competitors drove along a set course around Kota Kinabalu. At the end of the route, the amount of fuel used was measured to determine the winning driver.
Participants were separated by the two main models of the Isuzu D-Max – 2.5-litre and 3.0-litre and competed to win the top prize of RM5,000.00, trophy and certificate in each category.
Acknowledged as Malaysia’s most fuel efficient pick-up truck after winning the Asian Auto Mudah.my Fuel Efficiency Award for two consecutive years, the Isuzu D-Max has been the choice for motorists who have come to enjoy the performance, comfort, dependability and of course, its fuel efficiency.
“At the core of every Isuzu vehicle is its engine that is engineered to produce maximum performance without sacrificing reliability or fuel efficiency. By participating in the Dura-Miles Challenge, we hope our customers are able to discover just how far they can go with very little fuel in their D-Max,” said CEO of Isuzu Malaysia Takashi Hata.
The Dura-Miles Challenge was flagged off by Mr Hata from the Likas Driving Range and the drivers took their vehicles along the 82km route before ending at the Petronas Station in Telipok where officials from AAM conducted the refueling and tabulated the fuel consumption.
Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony at the Fook Loi Automax showroom, Hata congratulated the winners and thanked them for making the Isuzu D-Max their vehicle of choice.
“I congratulate all of you for purchasing an Isuzu D-Max. All of you are already big winners as you own Malaysia’s toughest and most fuel efficient pick-up truck,” he said.
